BOTTER: THE DIVE

BOTTER has launched THE DIVE where sport, fashion and environment join forces for the benefit of art. With Yona Knight-Wisdom, first Jamaican diver to participate in the Olympic Games.

The complete dependence all life has on water forms an integral part of how BOTTER sees and understands the world we inhabit. It is a key aspect of our manifesto, and what we use our artistic and creative endeavors to highlight.

'THE DIVE' is a campaign that touches on the relationship between humans and water, using the sport of olympic platform diving to convey our existential need for water. Water is safety and security. Without water, there is no jump. Water enables the diver to express their talent. Without water, no art. Water is life and a connected tissue that bridges all of us and all different continents, cultures together.

Our love of water and our concern for it is born from our caribbean heritage. Our people's reliance and placement in one of the world's most diverse marine environments influence us wholly, as well as our culture, our colours, how we perceive ourselves, and how others perceive us.

Pride of our caribbean DNA is central to us and therefore THE DIVE features and celebrates Yona Knight-Wisdom, the first Jamaican platform diver to compete in an olympic game. Yona's mastery of his craft conveys the beauty of a sport that uses the human body artistically as a canvas for expression. There lies the natural connection to fashion and what draws us together. As a fashion house, our work and our art come to life through the human body.

THE DIVE connects the sport to fashion and enables us and Yona to express our art in a way never seen before. The tension and contrasts we achieve together in THE DIVE culminate as a celebration of BOTTER, Yona, our connected heritage, the sport, and fashion.

The campaign was shot at Piscina Municipal de Montjuïc, in Barcelona. The exquisite view of the cityand Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia Basilica make it one of the world's most beautifel and traditional open-air diving pools and provided a dramatic setting for the campaign.
