On the occasion of the European Women's Football Championship, which will be held in England from 6 to 31 July, Giorgio Armani has designed the formal uniform of the Italian national team. The first match that will see the team, coached by Milena Bertolini, on the pitch is scheduled for 10 July in Rotherham against France.
Designed by Emporio Armani, the uniform is a sleek, dynamic and contemporary trouser suit. The one-button jacket and the light grey trousers are made of ultra-light wool, thermoregulated to guarantee maximum comfort and practicality. A shirt in white and light blue micro pattern and trainers complete the look. The team's wardrobe also includes a polo shirt and a grey pea coat with detachable lining.
The initiative is part of a four-year collaboration plan, signed in 2019 by Giorgio Armani with the Italian Football Federation, which includes the design of a formal Emporio Armani wardrobe for the Italian national team, the Under-21 team and the women's national team.
Over the years, Giorgio Armani has developed a deep connection with the world of sports: in addition to the Italian national football team, the designer has collaborated with some of the most distinguished international clubs, designing their official uniforms. For his advertising campaigns, he has often chosen the faces of champions in various disciplines, including Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Kakà, Luis Figo, Fabio Cannavaro, Andriy Shevchenko, Rafael Nadal, Federica Pellegrini and Filippo Magnini. A great basketball enthusiast, since 2008 Giorgio Armani has also been the owner of Olimpia Milano, which he led back to success, and which recently won its twenty-ninth title.
