Pioneering the Future and Championing Women’s Empowerment

L'O A: You’re an entrepreneur, investor and a champion of women’s empowerment. What role do you think innovation and entrepreneurship play in women’s empowerment? Which of your social initiatives and charity projects in support of women entrepreneurs have received the greatest response?

CE: Service to others has always been central to my journey. Since the age of 13, I have been deeply involved in politics, from chairing youth groups to working as a legislative and communications aide, championing causes that promote community dialogue and unity.

I have supported women and their families in various ways, including donations, fundraising, education, and building strategic partnerships for meaningful change. One of my proudest achievements is co-founding Shelter Hub, which later evolved into Transition Hub. Shelter Hub provided essential gifts-in-kind to abused women and their families, while Transition Hub went further by equipping these women with resources and skills for job searches, budget-friendly meal preparation, and more, aiding their transition towards self-sufficiency.

My background in dental hygiene allowed me to collaborate with Canadian dental offices to educate women in shelters on oral and overall health strategies. This initiative not only addressed immediate health needs but also empowered women with knowledge to maintain their well-being.

As the founder of a public relations and digital communications agency, I have always emphasized corporate social responsibility in our campaigns, helping brands raise awareness for social causes and ensuring our work makes a meaningful impact.

My early involvement in politics, working in the Legislative Assembly of B.C. and with various politicians across Canada, has shaped my perspective on the importance of inclusive public policies. I have consistently aimed to promote substantial positive change.

Public speaking at women's events, serving on boards for girls in STEM and Women in Tech groups, mentoring women in North America and the UAE on Web3 investments, and collaborating with global organizations have all been integral to my efforts. These activities support women's entrepreneurship, elevate community consciousness, and foster a mindset of empowerment and innovation.

L'O A: What motivated you to come to Dubai and Abu Dhabi? What were your goals when you founded Chantel Elloway Public Relations?

CE: I want to leave a legacy of empowering others to achieve more freedom and enlightenment.

Moving from Canada to living between Dubai and Abu Dhabi was driven by my desire to be at the forefront of technological advancement and to contribute to a rapidly evolving ecosystem. The UAE is a hub for cutting-edge advancements in Web3 and AI, offering unparalleled opportunities to shape the future.

I saw a unique opportunity to not only advance my career but also to pave the way for women in a space where we are underrepresented. The dynamic and forward-thinking environment in the UAE aligns perfectly with my vision of leveraging technology to create inclusive and empowering opportunities for women.

Being in the Middle East allows me to be part of a transformative movement, where I can inspire and mentor the next generation of female leaders in tech. It’s about making a tangible impact and contributing to a more diverse and innovative future, both regionally and globally.

L'O A: How has your involvement in Canadian politics and government influenced your worldview and opportunities?

CE: My diverse involvement in volunteering, fundraising, event planning, and speech writing, as well as working directly with politicians at municipal, provincial, and federal levels in Canada, has profoundly shaped my worldview and opened countless opportunities. My time in the Legislative Assembly of B.C. and my engagement with public affairs have given me a deep understanding of policy-making and the critical importance of civic engagement.

This experience fostered a passion for international relations and policy, allowing me to see the interconnectedness of global issues and the impact of strategic governance. It also instilled in me a commitment to public service and the belief that informed, inclusive policies can drive societal progress.

The strategic planning, advocacy, and communication skills I've developed have helped shape the future of these transformative fields and disruptive sectors to advance society.

L'O A: What role do you think artificial intelligence will play in investing and other areas you work in?

CE: Artificial intelligence is poised to revolutionize investing and several other fields I’m passionate about. In investing, AI can analyze vast amounts of data quickly and accurately, providing insights that drive smarter, more informed decisions. It helps identify trends, assess risks, and optimize portfolios in ways that were previously unimaginable.

Beyond investing, AI is integral to creating immersive digital experiences through Extended Reality (XR). This spectrum of technologies, including Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR), allows us to merge education and entertainment in transformative ways through interactive simulations and engaging educational content, making learning more dynamic and accessible.

In the metaverse, AI is the backbone of spatial computing and generative technologies, enabling the creation of metahumans and other digital entities. These advancements at the intersection of Web3, blockchain, and cryptocurrency are reshaping how we interact with digital content and conduct transactions.

By leveraging AI, we can unlock new opportunities and experiences, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible and preparing us for a future where technology and human creativity seamlessly blend.

L'O A: What misconceptions about blockchain and cryptocurrency do you encounter most often and how do you debunk them? What qualities do you consider important for success in rapidly evolving tech sectors?

CE: Excelling in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry requires a commitment to continuous learning and a deep understanding of market dynamics. Surround yourself with visionary and knowledgeable individuals, and stay updated on regulatory changes. Developing strong risk management strategies and focusing on solving real-world problems are key.

As a communications professional, it is crucial to provide education and awareness, presenting facts, use cases, and dispelling myths.

To make the best financial decisions, it’s important to define success: what are your goals, and what does success look like for you?

L'O A: How have the challenges you’ve faced in your journey helped to forge and refine your mindset into the powerful and resilient one you have today?

CE: Just as a key can unlock doors to new opportunities, a “golden mindset” opens up a world of possibilities and freedom. It allows you to unlock potential within yourself and others, navigate challenges with ease, and access rooms filled with growth, innovation, and success. 

This mindset is the key to doors that lead to endless opportunities and meaningful experiences, guiding you to a life of purpose and fulfillment, because you are choosing growth and abundance over scarcity and lack. It’s about staying authentic and transparent in all you say and do. Prioritizing financial literacy, and embracing life-long learning while staying ahead of emerging trends and always innovating. Empowering those around you, by keeping a positive attitude, leading by example and adapting to change with resilience and integrity. Networking and forming significant relationships that are not transactional but vibrationally in alignment with your core values. Having a clear mission, giving back when and where you can, and paying-it-forward. It’s about showing up for yourself and others daily, staying true to your inner blueprint and framework of your soul and never losing your sense of child-like wonder in a world and society that continually strives to conform us.

To maintain this mindset it’s important to always choose freedom over fear and remember that most of our experiences happen in our minds, which we have the autonomy to control. 

To me, the doorway to self-discovery is about seeing the opportunities and possibilities of ourselves, when we are open to new experiences and challenges from our current self to our higher self - shifting from merely existing to intentionally living.

Standing in front of a door requires us to make a choice to enter or not. Every day we wake, we are presented with various doors and choices to make to open or close the decisions that we are presented with. 

When we open a door and say “yes” when given a choice to something - this requires a form of courage, curiosity and connection. 

The first step on your journey requires the acknowledgment of the door(s) in front of you, by reflecting on your values, purpose and desires of your heart to open a new opportunity, or area of yourself or your life that you want to explore or develop deeper. 

It requires a commitment to take action and deal with the consequences of effects once that door is open - to face any obstacles, challenges or further decisions that may arise with accountability - because it was you, who opened that door. 

Before proceeding with each decision and door we are presented with - we must understand what type of door is presented to us. Is it locked or unlocked, does it require a key, does someone else hold the key or do we, do we push inwards or need to pull something within ourselves to grasp open the handle of potential and possibility and take the leap forth in that direction.

Mastering your mindset is like the process of melting and forging gold. Just as gold must undergo intense heat to melt and be purified, our minds require the challenges and pressures of life to transform. We each hold the Golden Key to melt and re-build programmed beliefs and re-purpose then into beautiful thoughts and actions, to shape our destiny into one that is as noble as gold.
