L'Officiel Arabia: When did you decide to become a Digital Creator?
Abaakil Aya: Hehe, it is kind of funny how it all happened. I don't think I ever made a conscious decision to become a Digital Creator. It was something that seemed to happen naturally over time, almost as if the universe conspired to bring me to this path.
I remember a time when I was just sharing my workout routines with my friends, and gradually, more and more people started showing interest in what I was doing. I realized that I had inadvertently built a community of people who were passionate about the same things I was.
So, I kept sharing my journey and my progress, and my community just kept growing. Before I knew it, I was creating more and more content, and I had become a Digital Creator, spreading my passion for a healthy lifestyle to people all around the world.
But you know what's really cool? My content has evolved and changed along the way. Now, I don't just share my workouts, but also my whole lifestyle. My looks, my outfits, my makeup, my skincare - I love sharing it all with my community. It's been amazing to see how my content and my community have grown and transformed with me.
Looking back, I realize that this was a clear example of the law of attraction and manifestation in action. I had simply put my intention out into the universe and allowed it to unfold naturally, without trying to force anything or obsess over it.
As I continued to grow and evolve, my content and my community also evolved with me into something that I am incredibly proud of today.
L'O A: You share your lifestyle (sport, healthy food, books) what is the message to the girls you aspire to have a successful and healthy life?
AA: Yeah, for sure! I'm all about sharing my healthy lifestyle, but the main message I want to get across is that balance is key for overall well-being. I mean, it's great to inspire them to work out, eat healthy, read, meditate, and all that good stuff. But, it's just as important to remind them not to be too hard on themselves. It's cool to listen to their bodies and take breaks when they need to, and to be kind to themselves with some self-compassion and self-acceptance.
I believe that part of a balanced lifestyle is also about allowing for some enjoyment and indulgence in moderation. Like, it's okay to a party or have a pizza now and then without feeling guilty about it. It's about finding that healthy balance and not depriving themselves of life's little pleasures. I want to show my girls that a successful and healthy life isn't about strict rules or restrictions, but about finding a way that works for them, physically and mentally, and enjoying the journey along the way!
And you know what? Taking care of themselves goes beyond just physical health. Self-care is a huge part of a healthy lifestyle, too. Like having a consistent skincare routine, and finding ways to de-stress and unwind, whether it's through reading, meditating, doing some yoga, or taking a nice, relaxing bath. Prioritizing self-care, both inside and out, is so important for maintaining that balance and living a healthy life. I want these gals to remember that it's a lifelong journey, so they should enjoy the ride and have some fun along the way!
L'O A: Who inspired you the most in life and how?
AA: Oh, that's a tough one! Honestly, I can't just pick one person who has inspired me the most because I'm constantly inspired by different people around me. But if I had to narrow it down, I'd have to say, my parents. They've taught me so much about being kind, humble, and accepting of others, no matter how different they may be from me. They've also encouraged me to lift others up and never hold back on giving a genuine compliment.
But I am also inspired by friends, acquaintances, and people I meet who go after their dreams, who break the mold and don't let fear hold them back. I love seeing how they bounce back from mistakes and keep moving forward, without any shame or regrets. It's truly motivating to see how they navigate challenges and stay true to themselves.
To put it simply, I find inspiration in everyone who embodies qualities like kindness, courage, and resilience. They show me that success is about more than just achievements, but also about how we treat others and overcome obstacles. They inspire me to level up and make a positive impact on those around me.
L'O A: You are an entrepreneur and influencer at the sale time, how do you manage between the two?
AA: Yes, being an influencer and entrepreneur while working from home can be a real challenge. It can be a juggling act, as being an influencer requires much more time and effort than people may realize. Many underestimate the behind-the-scenes work involved, such as managing contracts, negotiations, partnerships, collaborations, emails, finances, brand partnerships, invoices, quotations, and legal paperwork. It's a full-time job in itself. It's not just glitz and glam like what some people may think.
So, to manage both my influencer work and entrepreneurial ventures, I prioritize staying focused, and organized, and being strategic in my approach. It's important to set clear goals, plan my time effectively, and delegate tasks where possible. I am lucky to have a great time and who can help me stay organized and on top of things. Can’t say I've got it all figured out, but I'm constantly learning and adapting along the way!
And Of course, there are times when I have to prioritize one role over the other, depending on deadlines or project nature. But I always make sure to maintain a healthy work-life balance by setting boundaries and taking breaks when needed to avoid burnout. As I told you earlier Self-care is important!
It's a crazy ride, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm passionate about what I do and every project I take on. Can't wait to see where this journey takes me next!
L'O A: How has Moroccan culture inspired your career?
AA: Growing up in Morocco has instilled in me a deep appreciation for diversity and multiculturalism. Morocco is a melting pot of different cultures and traditions, and this has inspired me to explore and embrace different perspectives and ways of thinking in my career. I believe that diversity should be celebrated and embraced, and I'm proud to have been raised in a country that values cultural richness.
The Moroccan culture has also taught me the value of hospitality and generosity, which I try to incorporate into my business practices. I believe that treating others with kindness and respect is essential for building lasting relationships and achieving success. I'm grateful for the lessons in hospitality and generosity that I've learned from my Moroccan upbringing, as they have shaped my approach to conducting business with compassion and empathy.
L'O A: What are your upcoming projects?
AA: I am excited to share that I have some upcoming projects in the works! As someone who is always striving to learn, grow, and improve, I'm constantly seeking new opportunities to challenge myself and push my boundaries.
However, I believe that actions speak louder than words, and I'm a firm believer in not counting your chickens before they hatch. While I'd love to share all the details of my upcoming projects with you, I prefer to let my work speak for itself. Instead of talking about what I'm going to do, I'd rather focus on actually doing it.
That being said, I can promise that there are exciting things in the works, and I'm committed to making a difference and showing my community who I truly am through my actions. So stay tuned for some big surprises, because I'm determined to learn, teach, grow, and accomplish all that I can.
I want to add that while it's great to have plans and goals for the future, it's also important to keep them to yourself and work on them quietly. Don't seek validation or approval from others, as it can hinder your progress and cause unnecessary pressure. Just do it. Focus on the work, the small steps that will lead you toward your ultimate goal, and let your results speak for themselves. When you work in silence and with purpose, you can truly surprise yourself with what you are capable of achieving. So, to all the readers out there, I encourage you to pursue your dreams, take action, and work towards your goals with determination and dedication. Remember, the best validation comes from within.
