To recreate the Contessa slipper for Autumn / Winter 2022, Olivia von Halle sets the scene amid the bygone glamour of the 1960s jet set society of the Italian Riviera. Crafted from the finest natural materials, this season’s slippers see OvH’s signature silk pop in summer brights alongside playful ostrich feather pom-poms whilst artfully crafted natural palmyra palm raffia delivers a slipper that is perfect for high summer.

The Contessa slipper is brought to life by a network of sustainable partners and craftspeople; in this instance, a second-generation family run factory in Tuscany is used, drawing on the very best of Made in Italy values. For the creation of the Contessa slipper, they fuse time-tried craftsmanship with contemporary design and mindful practices, such as chrome free tanning, to meet the brand’s sustainability goals.

Not only sparklingly chic but also impossibly comfortable, the Contessa slipper incorporates high-tech Ortholite (which is sustainably made from repurposed rubber), the material used to craft orthotic sneakers, applying it to slippers for especially contoured comfort.
