Regan Hillyer: Power Meets Glamour!

L’Officiel Arabia: How and when did you decide to become a life and success coach?

Regan Hillyer: I was born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand in a traditional, loving family who valued higher education and the fostering of talents and skills, and as such, I attended an exclusive, private girls’ school and thrived in this competitive environment. As per my family expectations, I achieved a high level of academic achievement, was a school leader and attained a tertiary Performance Music Degree prior to actually attending university.

Following on from school, I won an academic scholarship to attend Victoria University, Wellington and graduated as an Architect (BArch) however, on completing my degree I realised that this professional niche was not for me and I was not attracted to the life and the structure that it dictated.

I knew that I needed to find my purpose in some other vocation, I just didn’t know what that was. To find the answer that I was seeking, I embarked on a personal development crusade, bearing in mind that I was only 20 years old at this time. I invested money that I didn’t have in myself, qualifying as a Certificated Master of NLP, Master of Hypnosis, Time Dynamics Specialist and a Success Strategist, amongst other certifications and training.

I then dabbled in a number of wealth strategies, property investment, currency trading, sales, business start-up and marketing…however nothing made me truly happy. My initial start-up were exceedingly successful, and made over a million dollars. And, much to everyone’s surprise, I walked away from them. You see, I was still not fulfilled in running them, nor was I happy. Everyone thought I was insane.

In the interim, I had been casually helping and supporting some friends (actually school peers) battling with depression, drug addiction and lack of self-esteem and when I achieved massive results with them and they referred me to other friends, I realised that this was what gave me the most pleasure and fulfilment, to see people heal, grow and learn. From here, I started as a 1:1 personal coach that led to establishing an offline education company.

And then founded Regan Hillyer International (RHI) that is an organic coaching and personal development company that grew and evolved from that original business and has now grown exponentially to a global, multiple 8-figure, live and online business. I formulated the “Laser Coaching™” system that is an industry gold standard method that facilitates trained, certificated coaches to achieve maximum results for their clients in micro time.

L’O A: Tell us more about - Ignite with Regan?

RH: Ignite With Regan is essentially a close circle of like-minded members of my clients and followers who subscribe to a monthly or annual membership that gives them access to six of my most powerful online courses featuring training and coaching around manifestation, money, healing, love, purpose and abundance. In addition to the courses offered, we meet live online on a monthly update basis that includes meditations and activations led by me.

There are also coaching tips from my team of motivational coaches, bonus content and exclusive members-only discount offers for accessing my menu of high-level best-selling courses. It is essentially a community as well as access to life-changing courses.

L’O A: How easy or difficult is it to coach people?

RH: Coaching should always be a supportive, mentoring role. If a client is open to being coached and is willing to stand up, listen and is motivated to actually do the work and change their lives, it couldn’t be a simpler pathway. On the other hand, if a client is wanting to simply access contact with the coach and have them ‘solve’ their problems without any personal work, then it can be extremely difficult. The relationship is essentially all about trust and sincerity. The relationship between coach and client also must always be one where the coach shows empathy and the ability to build rapport. Good coaches also have strong communication skills, including good questioning skills and demonstrate empathy with their clients, offering suggestions and guidance without being the client’s problem-solver. The client must find their way through to this route with the coach’s guidance and assistance. It is helpful also, if the coach has a wide experience in the niches that the client is seeking assistance with, albeit business, relationships, money, abundance, healing or spirituality.

Nothing gives me greater pleasure than seeing a client take on the world in their chosen niche, create the money that they wish to and in the process, give back to society and pay it forward.

L’O A: You have released a book with a very interesting name - Activating Abundance. Can you tell us more about it?

RH: My book (it is one of five that I have written and I have another one in the process) is entitled ‘Activating Abundance: Fifty-Two Codes to Unlock Abundance in Every Area of Your Life’

It was published in 2022 and co-written with my life partner JuanPa Barahona. It is hard-cover, with full colour glossy insert plates and is a bed-side companion for life.

Activating Abundance explains a series of 52 secret codes that have the power to create massive shifts in nine key areas of one’s life. These nine keys feature health, mindset, emotion, relationships, passion, wealth, purpose, spirituality and contribution and the book explains how you can unlock the secrets to all of these aspects of life to amplify every aspect of living to lead a more satisfying, more abundant lifestyle.The book is also accompanied by a set of full colour Visual Activator Cards for daily use and guidance, to be used in conjunction with Activating Abundance.

L’O A: Who has inspired you the most in your life and career?

RH: Essentially, there is no one guru or leading light who has inspired me and whom I follow devotedly, as I am an amalgam of the individuals who have mentored my growth and business development. My one rule is though, that I surround myself and immerse myself in environments and with people who have a positive impact on my envisioned life and direction, that is always evolving. It is the same with my clients, I am a step in their evolution and the catalyst for them achieving their dreams.

L’O A: Have you ever been to the UAE? If yes, how was your experience?

RH: Yes! I have been a number of times to the UAE and in particular to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. My experience was magical. To be in such wonderful, contemporary Emirates with all of their colour and style and yet be treading on ancient lands was truly amazing. A beautiful juxtaposition of the ancient and super-contemporary. I loved my visits to the desert. As a financial hub in the Middle East, the Emirates are second to none. The opportunities and benefits offered to the highly educated populations of the Emirates are inspirational and the high literacy rate of the people is to be admired. The numerous events that I have been invited to and have spoken at have always been well-attended and the friendliness and openness of the people to embrace change and progress is incredibly pleasing to see.

L’O A: What next for Regan Hillyer?

RH: My ‘home’ base, when I am not travelling and on my international speaking circuit, is now Costa Rica, where my partner and I have established a luxury sustainable community in the verdant, life-giving jungle on the coast adjacent to Manuel Antonio National Park. The Nest Costa Rica is a contemporary, activated wellness spa and carbon sinking sanctuary designed to be a haven of tranquillity and education. In addition, through The Nest initiatives, we are also giving back to our local community and working on environmental projects, for example, we recently facilitated the planting of over 6500 trees on The Nest site.

In addition to developing The Nest Costa Rica, I am working on expanding my capacity to receive more in order to have access to even more resources to contribute more and build the philanthropic projects that I care about most in this world. In order to do that, it’s a constant daily inquiry of looking at parts of myself that aren’t currently aligned to that and bringing them to the light in order for me to be a true energetic match for what I’m looking to call in and achieve.
