SOCIAL at Waldorf Astoria Dubai has re-launched with a Modern and Playful Take On Italian Cuisine

Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeriah, one of the city’s most cherished beach resorts on Palm Jumeriah, has announced the re-launch of the award-winning Social.

Led by passionate Italian Chef Carmine Faravolo, who was taught to cook by his grandmother in the revered culinary hotspot of Naples, the new menu is a modern, and yet playful, and quirky take on authentic peninsular Italian cuisine, where hearty favourites combine with innovative flavour pairings that have been inspired by Chef Carmine’s work around the world. 

Chef Charmine said: ‘With the new Social menu, I wanted to show that Italian cuisine is much more than pizza and pasta, and to showcase the culinary history, architecture, and romanticism of the country in my cooking. The dishes on the menu are fresh, vibrant, and modern and I’m looking forward to welcoming guests to try my food, and sharing with them the story of where each dish has come from and my personal reason as to why it’s on the menu”.

In a relaxed yet refined environment, guests can enjoy signature starters such as Eggplant Parigiana, the first dish Chef Carmine grandmother taught him to cook that he’s been perfecting ever since and Batta di Manzo with Oscietra caviar and an organic quail egg, a must try dish of Italian cuisine.

Pasta dishes include Pasta Lunga Esiccation, a Carbonara dish with marinated duck guanciale and a squeeze of lemon zest that is inspired by Southern Italy, and Raviolo Siciliano, with eggplant, ricotta salata and a sprinkling of Mediterranean crumple.

For mains, the taste of Italy continues with Rock Grouper in Amalfi Coast, with tomato, capers, olives, and winter dark cabbage, a perfect combination of both the land and sea, as well as international dishes such as Welsh Saddle Lamb, with Cauliflower, Raicchio and a white truffle sauce, inspired by Chef Carmine's winter days spent in London.

No Italian-themed menu would be complete without a Social Tiramisu to finish, one of the world’s most famous deserts plated with a modern twist, or a Magnum Raspberry Dark Chocolate, one of Chef’s Carmine’s favourite treats as a teenager, which he has been carefully perfected to end the evening on a perfectly sweet note.

White Truffle Menu
The heavenly White Truffle menu at Social by Heinz Beck presents innovative contemporary Italian cuisine inspired by the opulent white truffles found in southern Europe.

Open between Monday to Sunday from 6:30- 10:30pm, diners will start their culinary journey with the Duck Egg infused with porcini, tartufo, and gold leaves. The chestnut Tagliatelle with parmesan follows the rich Venison, which is accompanied by cauliflower, radicchio, and a luxurious berry truffle sauce. To finish, guests can indulge in a rich Tiramisu.

Starting from AED650 for a 4-course menu, and with grape pairing from AED 1,150.

Pasta Masterclass

Diners keen to learn Italian cooking secrets without leaving Dubai can enjoy a Pasta Masterclass with Chef Charmine every first and last Thursday of the month.

A blind menu: guests are invited to embark on a unique five-course journey through the flavours of Italy. Simply share your preferences and let Chef Carmine and his team surprise you with a bespoke menu, all whilst being entertained with a variety of different cooking techniques.

Intimate Dining Experience 

Diners who want to relax in the most intimate of settings can embrace Italian Romance in Socials private dining room, with a beautiful bouquet of roses and glasses of Champagne upon arrival, followed by a delightful bespoke 5-course menu, along with canapés and wine pairing served by a private butler.
