L’Officiel Arabia: When and how did you start your modelling career?
Rahi Chadda: It happened quite randomly. I was studying at university and a friend of mine needed models to test shoot. He reached out and I went down to his studio one afternoon. I’ve never looked back!
LO: Tell us about your best modelling experience/s?
RC: It would have to be the travelling and being a part of the fashion weeks. That energy feels surreal.
LO: Digital Influencer – when did you decide to become one?
RC: As my following began to grow, I started creating content out of my own wardrobe and the skincare products I’m using. It was just a way of connecting and engaging with my audience. As the content began to grow brands begun to show interest in collaborating and working together. The transition was quite natural.
LO: Tell us more about your skincare venture?
RC: I’ve always been quite open about my struggle with acne since I was a teen and that really fuelled my interest into understanding skincare and the process behind achieving better skin for myself. This led me to open Panache & Marina, a skin and aesthetic clinic in East London. The clinic has become one of London’s best kept secrets frequently visited by celebrity friends and media personalities.
LO: A full time Model, Influencer and an Entrepreneur - how do you manage to juggle between all these professions?
RC: It’s fun being multi-faceted and it keeps me busy. Having a good team by your side is key and really helps juggling all the different hats!
LO: Which high brands have you worked with till now? And which brands would you love to be associated with in the future.
RC: It’s been really fun working with brands such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Zegna, Coach, Diesel, Bvlgari & Viktor and Rolf Fragrances. They’re all quite different and unique in their own respect. The direction would be to keep creating content in a way which stays inspiring and fun for my audience.
LO: Which new projects are you working on currently?
RC: Currently, I’m working on a few launches which have been postponed due to the pandemic. We are in a stage of reshuffling, but all will be revealed in good time.
LO: How has the pandemic changed you as a person and how did you cope up during the lockdown?
RC: The biggest challenge for me was to adapt to how still life had become around me and by that I mean just staying at home. Having such a busy life travelling each week to just being at home was not easy to adapt to. The pandemic really taught me to take a step back from all the chaos and reevaluate.
LO: How have your Indian roots influenced your career?
RC: it’s been a huge source of inspiration and has acted as a catalyst for sure. I feel proud to be a south asian man working in fashion.
LO: What’s next for Rahi?
RC: Wherever the creativity takes me!
